Tomahawks2005

For the second year running J.P. took us away to the Breacon Beacons for a weekend where we climbed, canoed, mountain biked, walked and completed a high ropes course all in 60 hours. It sounds too good too be true, but we had a fantastic time, thanks must go to Mark Tarry, Johnny Williams, Simon Pethick, Robin Taylor Milton, Ann Bourne, Alistair Cook, Becky Williams, J.P. and Karen the cook!!! Without them we would not have been able to go.

And so began a new term, our first night back was taken up with boring paper work, so we soon got bored and swiftly moved into the main hall where Kelvin and Jane our Chairman and assistant organised some silly games, we are Explorers, but enjoy behaving like Beavers!!!

Our second week was a fun packed evening out at Bramshaw H.Q. where we had an indoor archery competition and an orienteering competition around the forest against other teams of Explorers from the District. We won the orienteering competition (even with a Ranger on our team). When we weren't shooting arrows or orienteering Howard had built two bonfires for us to chill out round as well as a BBQ for us to cook a light snack on. Thanks Bramshaw ESU for a great evening.

Our third evening was out at 21st H.Q. where our eminent leader had challenged the Network to a Frisbee challenge evening and then gone off to Barcelona and left the DESC to supervise us. Unfortunately after only 20 minutes we ran out of light and before we had any accidents we moved indoors the H.Q. where the Network provided the equipment for a game of uni hoc. Lets just say they are much bigger than us and although we have stamina they had the strength.

Still to come this term we have Module A training, cycling at calshot, climbing at Sparsholt and much, much more.
